The event took place on February 13, 2026, at the invitation of Premier Li Qiang, shortly before the Chinese New Year. Selected international experts, along with leading representatives of the government, were in attendance.
Participants included Premier Li Qiang, Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang, members of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee, and representatives of the Party Committees of the cities of Suzhou and Taicang. Attendance was limited to a select group of international experts who had been recognized in recent years for their outstanding contributions to economic and industrial cooperation with China. From this group, a small number of participants were chosen to present their perspectives during the symposium. Dr.-Ing. Häring was among the few international representatives invited to deliver his remarks in person.
The symposium focused on the Chinese government’s current Five-Year Plan and the role international companies and experts can continue to play in supporting industrial and technological development. Key topics included long-term investment, technological collaboration, and the expansion of education and workforce development initiatives.
The Häring Group has been present in Taicang for over 20 years. Through close collaboration with local authorities and partner companies, the company has played an active role in shaping the development of Taicang as a German-influenced industrial hub.
Dr.-Ing. Häring has been invited to government-level events on multiple occasions and was awarded the Chinese government’s Friendship Award in October 2025, the country’s highest honor for foreign experts. This renewed invitation reflects the continued recognition of the Häring Group’s long-standing commitment in China.
The symposium was covered by Chinese state television CCTV as well as national news outlets. The event provided an opportunity for direct exchange with representatives of the Chinese government and highlights the ongoing strong partnership between the Häring Group and its Chinese counterparts.
